As you cross the Bonner Bridge onto Hatteras Island, you can feel the pace of life slow down. The trio of Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo lie at the northern end of the island, just past the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge. Hatteras Island is a vacationer's dream, with wide sandy beaches and beautiful blue waters. These three northern villages offer many shops, restaurants, a water park with go-carts and a sound side day-use area.
While Salvo is the southernmost town of the tri-village community, Salvo does not simply blend in with Rodanthe and Waves, but has a distinct character all its own. A very relaxed area, Salvo has a true local feel and is a mostly residential community.
Salvo is a place in Dare County in North Carolina, USA. It is located at latitude 35° 32' 24" North, longitude 75° 28' 22" West. The United States Postal Service has assigned Salvo the ZIP Code 27972.
